The General Electronics Company GEC was established 6-11-1976, and the Electronic Devices and Equipment Company was established 18-12-1978, both in accordance to the resolutions and recommendations of the General Peoples Congress in order to localize trade in the Jamaheriya. The two companies were merged on ((26-10-1980)) under the name “The General Electronics Company” unifying their efforts and organizing their course of work.
